Precinct 3

Maple Valley, Renton, Covington-SouthEast king county area

What is the Explorer Program?

This program is for young adults ages 14-20 with an interest in law enforcement. All of our advisors are commissioned officers within our department. You will spend your time with us learning about different careers in law enforcement and the skills you will need to be successful in a variety of branches.

Meetings

Our meetings typically consist of an hour of classroom/learning time and then transitions into an hour of hands on, mock scene training that correspond with the topic discussed in the classroom time. Explorers then are able to physically practice their new knowledge and better their skills.
*Meeting details are on the contact page*

Our Success

The explorer program has been proven to prepare young adults for their career in law enforcement. Many of our former members have become law enforcement officers themselves or have excelled in different branches of the military.

Events

We assist the city in many community events by providing security, directing traffic, parking cars, etc. We also help out many other posts across Washington state with larger events they have in their local area. You may have seen us at Maple Valley Days, Seafair, Fishing Derby and many other parades and festivals around King County.

Your Future

Whether you want to go into federal law enforcement, a local department, the military or another related field, this program trains you physically and mentally for the challenges you will encounter along with providing you with tools to help you succeed.
